Hi Ed,

Look carefully in your e-mail settings for formatting.  If your program 
is set to reply to messages in their original format, then even if you 
have set your program to send in plain text only, then all your replies 
will still be in the original format.  This may mean that if the 
originator of the post is using Rich Text--which seems to be a problem 
on this ancient server--then your message will also have rich text and 
thus be filled with oddities.
