You're exactly right, Colin. I got bagged a few times when I first started using JAWS, but quickly learned to assign a hotkey just in case I had to shut the program down and restart it. I used to wonder why FS didn't assign Ctrl+Alt+J; it seemed like such an obvious choice, but when I started running more than one version I figured out why.
Right now, I'm playing with the new Beta release, so I like to keep the official version on the system just in case something malfunctions and I have to get back to a working version. I use Ctrl+Alt+J for the official version, and Ctrl+Alt+F9 for the Beta version. Nothing special about that second assignment except that the key wasn't being used for anything else. I wanted to use Ctrl+Alt+F12, but some other piece of software on my machine is already using that key, so I couldn't. I found that out in a hurry when I tried to assign the key and that other software started running.
