Hey all:
This radio has likely been discussed in detail during my absence...but perhaps someone could fill me in on a couple details...going through list archives is a real pain.
I wonder if the touch screen on the ic7100 can be disabled, and if so, is there anything on the touch screen that is only accessible via the touch screen? in other words, if the touch screen can be turned off, is there anything only accessed via the touch screen that can't be found in the menus or else where? Perhaps there is now a tactile overlay for the screen as well?
I had a chance to play with an ic7100 for a few minutes and really liked the radio...especially the fact that the DStar mode speaks things like the callsign of whoever signs on to the repeater or reflecter you are monitoring...as well as the spoken alpha tagging for the memory channels.
The programming software appears to be fairly accessible as well allowing you to enter all the DStar info easily unlike radios like the 2820 etc.

thanks for any info.
