I am sure you will love the 480.  I have had mine for 8 years, with no 
trouble.  The internal tuner will handle anything under 6/1.  Many hams on 
this list have or have had the radio, so their will be lots of help on it.
If you operate CW over 25 WPM, you will want to change the weight ratio in 
the menus.
Everything talks except the internal SWR meter.
It is also a very good broadcast band receiver.
It tunes down to 100 KHZ, but the sensativity seems to drop rapidly under 
500 KHZ.  That might be because I don't have a long wave antenna.
Also if you operate CW, an optional filter really livens up the radio.
