The voice 2 on the 2000 I'm using just reports the s-meter reading w/o
saying "db", (i.e.) it just says "S 6". But it is giving the actual s-meter
reading.

Subject: Kenwood TS-2000 BS-3 Reports S Meter of "X DB"

Hi!

My Kenwood TS-2000 has a VS-3 chip installed, and I have programmed the PFK
to report "Voice 2." I understand that this is the incoming signal
strength. It reports this in terms of decibels. What does this mean? What
is the scale for this reading? I often hear "S 6 DB." Is that good? Some
people have said that reporting the signal strength in decibels is not
normally how this is reported. How is this reading normally reported?
