I have a 2000, 590, 990, and a 480.  Main reason I kept the 2000 was for 
ssb on two and 440.  I think the dsp is better on the 590, but I really 
don't like dsp much, even on the 990.  I use it on occassion, but not 
often.  The 590 I think is a bit easier to operate in some ways.  Italso 
speaks swr and alc and you also have the recorder options built into 
that speech board.  That is another board on the 2000.  If you have no 
interest at all in anything above six, go for the 590.  A hard choice.
