Yeah, messing with that 8-pin plug makes me nervous. Where did you find a
pre-soldered plug? I saved most of your comments about the box, but I
haven't gotten around to building one yet. I could put it between the
8-band equalizer and the radio.

If you want to play around with the connector on the back of the radio, you
might consider getting an AR-14 from LDG. Basically, it's a box with three
DIN connectors on the back, and 14 RCA jacks on the front. The box comes
with three cables, a 6-pin, a 7-pin, and a 13-pin DIN. The cable you use
depends on what radio you have, and you don't use more than one cable at a
time. Each of the RCA jacks on the front is connected to one of the pins on
the DIN connectors, so you can access everything by means of the RCA jacks.
It's great for experimenting, but you can also leave it hooked up
permanently if you get lazy like I did. It goes for around $50 U.S., which
sounds expensive until you think about what you'd have to pay for all that
stuff separately. I'm sure you can find it on the LDG website, although I
first saw it at w4rt.com.

Steve
