I had the same issue, but the tips people gave me for copying or moving
addresses from one Thunderbird address book to another didn't work for me.
What I did eventually was export all my address books. The format
Thunderbird likes has an extension that was new to me, but it's a text
file. In the address book export options, it's the one that says vcs or
that other extension.
After the address books were exported, I changed the extensions to txt.
Then I opened them in Word and just copied one file to the end of the
other. I don't remember having to delete anything at the top.
When I was done, I saved the file and changed the extension back to
whatever it had been. Then I imported the single file into thunderbird.
Remember to tell Thunderbird you want all your addresses to go into a
single address book. I don't remember if that's in Tools>Options or in
the address book stuff.
