Hello Vince,
Magic is designed to run in tandem with JAWS. doing so provides all of the
magnification and enhancements to the screen and mouse while providing full
featured speech and braille support. This allows people who still have some
useable vision to view the screen but rely on speech (and if they want and
are able, braille) output. Often, people whose visual acuity is such that
they still use vision for reading specific things on the screen but find
that extended reading is either too slow or fatiguing will use JAWS and
Magic together in this way. Also, Magic and JAWS commands have been
harmonized so that someone who must transition from magnification to speech
and/or speech and braille output will find the commands to be the same as
the switch is made from one application to the other.
