Hi, all.

Well, I worked a bit of the Sweepstakes contest tonight, using my new
80-meter sloper, and had reasonable success. Only used 100 watts, and had
trouble breaking through some of the pilups, but got out to the east coast,
the south, and as far west as South Dakota.

Around 11:30 Eastern, I moved down to 160 meters, and was surprised to find
no contest activity there yet.

I would have thought 160 would have started to have some contest activity by
that hour of the night.

Will be interested in the experiences of any others who are doing the
contest.

P.S. I heard Lloyd (W3IUU) tonight on 75 meters working a station in
Western Pennsylvania, but could not make contact because he was doing S and
P like me.
