I'm still not sure I believe it. Maybe that's because I have little faith in 
relay tuners in radios, I just don't think there's enough there to make it 
tune that high and a meter on the output will never tell you how high it 
will go unless you turn the tuner off and check it then on. While the 
tuner's on, it can change what the external swr meter sees coming in, so can 
give you strange readings. You want to test that, turn off your internal 
tuner, check the swr on the tw-1 or tuner of choice, especially if it's a 
band your tuner needs a lot of work on tuning, then turn it on tuned, though 
the swr meter is past the output of the radio, it will usually s how higher. 
Maybe someday I'll have a 480 and see for myself, but right now I have no 
interest or money. My TS-2000 will have to last me a very long time and as 
often as I use it with NTS nets and what not and when I'm bored and want to 
do some DX, I'm really putting it to the test. That new TH-D72A comes out 
soon and I can unload most of my HT collection to afford it it will get used 
even more but I have stuff to sell first and I don't know what.
