I go along with Lynn's suggestion.  When you start adding up the costs of 
doing everything (especially if you also have to pay for the labor), new 
tends to be cheaper. 
Also you get better specs, the other components of the pc are newer, and 
all the rest.

Keep in mind that today's dream machine is tomorrow's stepchild you will 
be talking about upgrading.  So do a mental cost-benefit analysis to see 
what makes sense for you.
What's important to you and your needs and/or wants will differ from the 
next person.
And how you use the machine go into that equation.
