usb to serial adapters should work, they are very hit or miss in what works 
at all or not but if you find one that works, find something someone's had 
luck with before, it should work fine. So far, I've seen the Kenwood 
software somehow run on almost anything so I'd try it if I were you. I'm 
going to be the last person to go 64 bit because I have so much I need that 
won't run on it but those aren't programs I worry about. I've had them 
running on everything so far form windows 98 up to vista.
