I don't know if this is true. If so how terrible.
I am aware that USDA now mandates that all almonds must be  pasturized 
before going to market. They did this because there were a few  cases where 
folks got sick from almonds that had some type of bacteria in  them.

I wish.

But I've read somewhere that all spices imported into the  U.S.A. must by 
law be nuked with hard radiation.
Is this  true?
