Thank you to all who replied to my query about dining in Fort Saskatchewan.
It looks like Edmonton has more choices but there will be some options
locally. Several folks suggested a great website that is very helpful for
all of Canada.

It is wonderful to be able to learn from other's experiences on this list.
I appreciate all the help you have given us this summer!

A great new resource that puts the recommendations of the Canadian Celiac
Association onto free maps is available at www.theceliacscene.com.

There may be some celiac friendly fast food chains in Fort Saskatchewan.

Try the Road Scene at

If he has time at lunch to get in to Fort Saskatchewan there is a Tim
Horton's on the highway where he can get their chili. It is about the only
thing on their menu that is gf. At most any restaurant he could get a Cobb
or Chef's salad that would be gf. Perhaps the hotel where your son is
staying could pack him a lunch each day that he could take with him - such
as lettuce roll ups, salad and fruit

Just wanted to let you know that all Boston Pizza's in the area now have
Gluten Free pizza crust. Their Prime Rib burger patty is made without
filler. Planet Organic is a grocery store in Edmonton that has GF foods.

in Edmonton: the Blue Chair Cafe (www.bluechair.ca) has several gluten free
options. Kinnickkinnick bakery (not sure of the spelling) is a GF only
bakery. If he can get to the bakery, he can make sandwiches for lunch.
Many East Indian restaurants use lots of chickpea flour; everything except
the Naan bread. Most thai restaurants also cook without a lot of gluten,
just make sure there is no soy sauce in things.
