the issue with linux is unless you are highly technically advanced, with the command line, some of the operating system may be virtually impossible to use. also, even though ubuntu is g u i based mainly, the install has to be done within the terminal because of the speech not working. I have not found very high stability in the g u i base. I use a macintosh with 10.6 snow leopard, and it uses the screen reader, voiceover. that screen reader is very extensive, where mac os 10 is g u i based, the install is too. it even has voiceover on the dvd so that you can have full accessability on the install.
