    I have a couple of those rectangular Radio Shack toroids somewhere 
around here, so may give them a try once I find them.

Again,  I'm using the regular walwart supply that comes with the TW1.

If changing power supplies doesn't work, you might try a rf choke on the
power lead, a toroid of some kind. BTW, I've always found for some reason,
40 is the worst band for rf getting into stuff.
