But that does not work as was intended by the original requester. it is
not the same thing as writing flush with both left and right margins on each
line as you go down the page, as was entailed in the
original request. To do that, you would do something like set a tab stop at
or towards the right margin. Right aligning after you've typed will bring
all of your typed text over to the right as well as that which you may then
type. (I wonder was there some modification to this in versions of Word
after 2002? I rather doubt it.) I used to have a document (that got lost
in a Great Crash) which explained, in keyboard terms, how to do this. I
think you may be able to right-align a tab stop, so that anything typed to
the right of it will be right aligned, whereas anything typed to the left of
it may then be as usual left aligned.

line in Word 2003
To write your name along the left margin and your phone number along the
right in the body of a Word document:
1. Type your name at the left margin as usual.
2. Press ctrl+r to right align, and type your phone number.
3. Press enter, and press ctrl+l to left align.
4. Continue typing as usual.
To write your name along the left margin and your phone number along the
right in the header or footer of a Word document:
1. Press alt+v to go to the View menu, the letter h to get into the Headers
and Footers, then the up- or down-arrow to get into the header or footer
field.
2. Type your name at the left margin as usual.
3. Press tab twice to right align, and type your phone number.
Note: If you tab only once in the header or footer, the pointer goes to the
center, so you can have one item at the left margin, one item at the center,
and one item at the right margin.
4. Press alt+v to go to the view menu and the letter n to go into normal
view, taking focus out of the header or footer. You can go right back into
print view with alt+v followed by p if you like.
