Christine,

The CP group _can_ do something, and writing letters to our members of
Congress, as you've suggested, is a very good place to start. Also meet
with your members of Congress when they're in their home district to put a
"face" on the concerns you have. I belong to another list that deals with
CP issues that I'll post this to. During the campaign, I worked with
Obama's disability policy group a litttle, and my wife worked with Clinton's
campaign until the nomination was decided, so the Administration is willing
to listen.

One thing that I'd like to encourage is a greater emphasis on issues related
to disability and aging, as those of us with disabilities tend to feel the
effects of aging sooner than people without disabilities.

There's also a Yahoo group that deals with disability policy that people
might like to check into:

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

-George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950
