And yet, I find children learn from their parents. Ask how many over 60's
would give up their social security and Medicare? Yet they don't want
universal health care for all. Here in Florida, people come for the winter
and leave, happy to be away and not pay the extra taxes to help out schools.
There are communities here that don't even have funeral palors or cemetaries
because people leave to go back where ever they came from. (There's a great
documentary about the Villages a huge, huge, huge retirement community). We
cringe with the new 55 and over communities moving in. It means less
community in this area. Our folks who have invested in the community and
live out in the community are a boon, the retirees in the their own homes
lock themselves away and don't want anything to do with the younger crowd,
helping the next generation. Everyone wants a piece of the pie.
