i've heard nothing but bad things about alincos.
not from an accessibility stand point either, though i suspect they're not
great for that either.  They are cheap which is attractive, but probably not
worth the headache.
go for a used ict-90 or th f6a if you can.
if not, consider radios like the TH K2at, the IC T2H, IC V8.  All two metre
rigs that are quite accessible and very well built.
