1.	Links to check out: www.rochesterceliacs.org

2.	Check our web site for restaurants in the Rochester area. My
favorite is Biaggi's near the Victor exit. Try the Chicken Pietro. It's
great.

3.	We ate at the Casino on the Canadian side, the one closest to
the bridge. Buffet 16.95. The chef personally took us around and showed
us what items were gluten free and he also specially prepared some
salmon as well. Just mention it to the wait staff and they will get the
chef. They used to have a special gluten free dessert he said but no
longer. Rice pudding (which was delicious) and fruit were the only
desserts.

4.	I believe there is an Outback somewhere close to the I90.

Curleys in Lackawanna has a GF menu (in Buffalo)

Wegman's grocery markets in Syr/Rochester/Buffalo are a GF haven. They
have a lot of GF food plus they have their own Wegman's brand (which
they label everything that is GF with the letter G on it - there is
quite a lot).

5.	The Keg Steakhouse in Embassy Suites was wonderful. They seemed
aware of celiac and made several suggestions off the menu. It was a
pricey dinner though. They will accommodate gluten free prep for
things like Caesar salad, i.e., clean bowl and utensils to mix greens
with dressing and no croutons; they are primarily a steak house but
have other items.

Montana's is another chain in Canada (not sure if they're in Niagara
Falls) that may have an 'American' menu; check their website for their
gluten free menu.

Pizza Pizza is a chain that now has gf crust - make sure that you
question that they know the proper prep - they worked with the Canadian
Celiac Association to develop the handling protocol, but staff training
may be an issue.

Loblaws supermarkets in Canada generally have gf food/groceries and
great prepared salads and vegetarian sushi which has never caused us a
problem. On the US side we go to Wegmans for great gf groceries and
have never gone wrong with their boxed salads, some prepackaged labeled
cold cuts/cheese etc., -

6.	We had lunch at a fabulous hotel called Queenland at Niagara on
the Lake. It is a short drive from the Falls and their buffet was
fabulous. There were many things on the buffet that were naturally GF
and we ate up a storm and enjoyed every mouthful. Their pastry table
was unbelievable but since we couldn't have anything on it, they gave us
a beautiful ice cream substitute. We went in from the Canadian side.

7.	In Niagara Falls Ontario on Lundy's Lane, there is a restaurant
called "Swiss Chalet", noted for their chicken which we can have, I eat
there lots of times, & I get the 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with baked potato,
also about 12 minutes out of Niagara Falls Ontario is a village called
Chippawa, & on Sodom Road is a restaurant called Betty's Restaurant,
noted for their fish & chips. I, naturally can't get that as the fish
is breaded & cross-contamination as far as the fries go, but I get the
fish "poached" with mashed potatoes (real), & veggies, & dessert I
always get their rice pudding. Neither of these restaurants cater to
g/f, but being from Niagara Falls, they're my 2 favorite restaurants
that I feel comfortable with = there's other things on the menu of
course, but these are my preferences. There is also an Outback off a
street called Stanley Avenue, & of course, they have a g/f menu but you
have to ask for it, also because of the area, I'll warn you, I find them
pricey.

8.	We ate at Hard Rock Cafe (Clifton Hill area next to the Sheraton
on the Falls) -- they don't have a gluten free menu but again, after
talking to the chef, he was able to recommend some options.

There is a Rainforest Cafe (Clifton Hill area behind the Sheraton on the
Falls) which also can suggest some gluten free options.

I was told by a fellow celiac that Planet Hollywood, while again not
having a gluten free menu, can offer you some options.

We stayed at Sheraton on the Falls in Clifton Hill right across from the
American Falls) and the restaurant there was also very accommodating --
for both breakfast and dinner.
