There have been several recent references to stool testing as a diagnostic
test for celiac disease but I have yet to see a single reference to a
peer-reviewed article in a reputable scientific journal documenting the
efficacy of such testing. Without publication in a peer-reviewed scientific
journal there can be no basis for believing that such testing is credible.

What does peer-review mean? In brief, when a scientist submits an article to
a peer-reviewed journal, the methodology, results and analysis are
documented in sufficient detail and reviewed by other non-interested,
competent experts in the field prior to publication so that there can be
some degree of confidence in the validity of the results. In the absence of
such peer review and publication, any claims about the validity of a
methodology should be viewed with skepticism.

If published, peer-reviewed validation of stool testing exists, I would like
to see the references. A note on a web site does not constitute
scientifically valid documentation.
