 Hello Lorraine,
 
 when you bought the cd there is no reason to download it.
 If you mean Windows XP Sp2 then you just have to install that OS.
 On the other hand when you mean only the service pack 2 for Windows XP and your windows is already up and running then you just have to install that service pack.
 No real problems lie ahead, just take care like always and back up your data before installing.
 !! Remember the Golden Rule for computing, Back Up, Back Up and again Back Up !!
