Thanks to everyone who responded--essentially there wasn't much good news.
Bonefish, Outback and Carrabba's were all recommended, as well as the
following info:
Hudsons seafood - on the bay was knowledgeable and accomodating
I ate a dish: Almond crusted Grouper - the waiter asked someone else who
came to the table and spoke knowlegeably about how things were prepared -
the fish had potato flakes for the breading and it came with a mango sauce
that was assured to me as OK and was delicious.
We also ate at Steamers - it was ok - I ordered Tuna - ordered salad without
croutons - but I had taken my daughter to the restroom and our food was on
the table when we got back - there was a huge breadstick/roll sitting on top
of my food. I ate the tuna - but asked for new potatoes and veggies.
I had one of my pity parties at the table - with everone debating over what
appetizer and what dish to get - and my choices were so limited - then the
breadstick...the waitress felt bad - it just hard to educate in the
timeframe of placing the order. And when she described the dish she didn't
mention the bread.
But - I do believe that this meal made me sick! It's hard going to a new place!
There is a Publix there on the island that has a pretty decent gluten free
selection...I looked up health food stores - but didn't call or venture out
to see what they might have.
Thank you--Stacy Lane
