I believe this is very sound advice.  Would you mind sharing the
vendor names of those cases you consider to be high quality that you
have purchased?  LOL (although not a laughing matter) about your
comment re: cutting my fingers.  I have done that too many times in
the past on others' computers and have resolved not to do that on any
computer I build for myself, family members and/or friends.

Bob, I sliced my finger pretty good once, trying to build a pc on the cheap 
for a lecturer friend of mine.  I vowed to never again buy a case without 
checking for sharp edges!  I think that most of the cases that cost about 
$100 (with a cheapo power supply included) have rounded edges these days.

The case that I was referring to was a Full Tower case and a Turbo-Cool 
power supply  from PC Power and Cooling.  I spent well over $500 for a set 
for myself and, again, for my wife.  The original power supplies both lasted 
about seven or eight years, and I have upgraded them with new ones from PC 
Power and Cooling.   I looked upon the expense as a long-term investment and 
have never regretted it.  www.pcpowerandcooling.com.  I don't think that 
those cases are made anymore, but the cases from good companies like Antec 
are likely just as good, made to fit modern motherboards better, and have 
nice features like slide-out motherboard trays.
