Hi Christy.
The strategy that I use for dealing with PL tones is pretty simple. I look
for an HT that has a lot of memories and that can be programmed with
software. I'm using the Icom ICT7H. It has 60 memories--enough to hold
all of the 2 meter and 70 cm repeaters in the Rochester, NY area. I just
load all of the repeaters into memories with their respective PL
tones. The Icom software is readily accessible with JAWS, and all I have
to do is click through the memories, or I can key in the memory numbers on
the number pad and direct access memories that way. What could be simpler?
