Kind of the same idea of running an amp that is a KW on 110 volts verses on
220 volts.  I bought the old SB220 from a friend years ago and he had it
wired for 110 volts.  No fooling.  It dimmed the lights.  A friend tuned it
up for me, he build huge amps for people, and wired it to 220 and man the
thing would blast away.  I was getting about 1200 watts output with a souped
up power supply.  So extra always helps even with amps and computers.
