Had the following question about ppm, and attempted to
answer it as follows.

-----

  Megan,
in food how would that work out ?

1/8 tsp. in __________ cups of flour for example?

  Paula in Pa.

-----

A cup of flour weighs about 110 grams. So there are 9 cups
per Kg flour, roughly.

Flour, cornstarch, confectioners' sugar, and other
powdered ingredients have a density of approximately 9
grams (1/3 ounce) per tablespoon (as opposed to 15g per
tablespoon for most other denser ingredients).

Since there are ~ 3 teaspoons per tablespoon, it follows
that there are ~ 3 grams flour per teaspoon.

So we can apply the mg/Kg = 1 ppm conversion.

1 kg = 9 cups flour, and 1 mg = 0.00333 tsp flour.

1 ppm = 0.00003704 tsp per cup flour.

or, in more practical terms:

1 ppm = 1/8 tsp (0.125 tsp) per 3,375 cups flour.
