I got spanked once for no reason by my dad.  My sister, little sister,
and I
used to stand by the big heat registers on the walls of our house went

was cold.  You had to be careful not to get too close to them or you

scrape your leg on the little piece of metal used to open and close the
vent.  Additionally, the vents got mighty hot sometimes, too.  So one
day, I
think it was during the evening and we were ready for bed, my little
sister
and I were standing together by one of these vents.  My little sister
was
screwing around, slipped, and when she fell to the floor, her leg
scraped
right over the piece of metal and scratched her leg.  Mom looked over
and
figured I had pushed her away and she fell but I hadn't done anything,
this
time, so mom said, Willie, you get right over there and spank that boy
for
what he did.  So, dad did, in spite of the fact I was yelling at the top
of
my lungs that it wasn't my fault.  Too late.  Then my little sister, who
just turned 50 years of age, serves her right, admitted that her older
brother had nothing to do with her fall.  Then mom said, See there,
Willie.
You spanked the kid for nothing.  Of course, there were many other times
I
got away with things I should have been spanked for so it didn't hurt me
any
that dad was making up for all the other times.  I remember the look of
utter confusion on dad's face, too.  There was no way he could win that
one.
