Hi Jeff,

I did some EME back in the late eighties on 2 meters. The equipment I used
was 400 watts to 4 x 17 element long yagi's, with a low noise masthead
pre-amp.

I had some success, but the main problem I experienced was accurately
positioning the antenna at the moon.

As far as I know these days moon bounce opperators are increasingly using
specialised digital modes rather than conventional cw. Apparently with
digital modes employing much narrower bandwidths, it's possible to work
successfully with lower power and smaller antenna arrays. However I can't
say how the software would work with speech.

The software was written by joe turner w1jt, perhaps a search in google will
turn up his website.

Cheers,

Tim. GI4OPH.
