Mag and Ken,

It's been 30 years since I was there, but my favorite island was Kauai.
We stayed at a hotel that was right on the beach of a really beautiful
bay, so the water was really calm, it was easy to get to, and it wasn't
crowded. We visited Oahu, Kauai, and Hawaii (the Big Island).

Hawaii was also fun because we stayed at a house owned by a friend of my
dad's, since they weren't there - back in Wyoming skiing. They had a
swimming pool at the house, and we got there after dark. Remember the
scene in _The Sound of Music_ where Maria is spinning in the field with
her suitcase in one hand, and her hat in the other? My sister, who was
about 15 at the time, decided she was going to imitate that on the big
"patio." We fished her and her suitcase out of the pool when we finally
stopped laughing! The best part about staying there was that the whole
island was less "touristy," although for accessibility, touristy might
be better.

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all
progress depends on the unreasonable man.

i had a little cottage bout a block off the beach in
maui. it was one of the less popular beaches. if you
like to be in the more popular areas lahainna would be
good. i dont know if i spelled that right.
no matter where you stay get the limits on the
credit card up. it is paradise, but, paradise is not
cheap.
have fun, mag. like i said i'd like to go back.
my bud in hilo just sent me a pair of medals
commerating the honolulu coin club. if i could afford
it, such a nice place to retire.

i have no intentions of going coach, but was told
that business class and first were not to much
different on some airlines, but really different on
some. i think i'd be doing quanta, but, not sure. as
many trips as i have been able to do online prep for,
i think an agent is going to be a must when i do this
one. it is going to be a huge trip. it is probably a
few years off if i wait for enough FF miles to go
first class.
