Guided Gluten-Free Food Shopping Tours and Home/Kitchen Visits with
Registered Dietitian, Melinda Dennis, MS, RD, LDN

Food shopping and safe eating can be a daunting challenge after a
diagnosis of celiac disease. Join me on a personalized guided tour of
your favorite food store to learn how to easily and safely identify
gluten-free foods.

During our store tour, I will:

1. Guide you through the store highlighting labeled and unlabeled
gluten-free foods
2. Teach label reading for hidden gluten
3. Review your current food choices and lifestyle habits
4. Recommend options for healthy eating, focusing on nutrition related
to the gluten-free
diet (calcium, vitamins and minerals, fiber, etc)
5. Coach you on the right questions to ask to determine if a product is
gluten-free.

During a visit to your home, I will:

1. Identify sources of hidden gluten and cross contamination in your
kitchen
2. Strategize safe ways to maintain your gluten-free diet in a
gluten-filled environment
3. Teach label reading to expand your food choices
4. Suggest gluten-free alternatives for foods you are currently eating.

My background: When I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 1992, there
was no existing support group in the Boston area. Together, with a
handful of motivated people, I founded a celiac resource group, now
known as the Healthy Villi Greater Boston Celiac/DH Support Group. I am
now a registered dietitian with a Masters in Nutrition and Health
Promotion. As an outpatient dietitian, I specialize in celiac disease
and have counseled over 275 individuals in the past 4 years. It is my
great pleasure to share with you up-to-date information to make healthy
and nutritious gluten-free food choices.

Program: Sessions run from 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on your needs,
preference, and familiarity with the gluten-free diet. Please call me
for more information.
