John,

I had the bc780xlt and sold it!  I wasn't successful at all.  The GRE made
scanners sold by radio shack are more accessible.  You have to be careful
with Rat Shacks scanners as some of them are made by Uniden for Rat Shack.

I have nothing against the Unidens other than their software is a real pain
in the....... neck!
