Greetings Bao and list--

The configuration listed below is rather good in most respects. It is not "bleeding edge" (or quite leading edge), but it is pretty current. If (as you suggest) the motherboard will handle DDR2 RAM, this is good, however; DDR2 is a good bit more expensive than DDR RAM (which is still quite quick). I would recommend using at least two (2) 256 MB RAM modules, making sure it is a matched pair. On the processor (and I'm hoping someone else on the list will correct me if I am wrong), I believe that the 2.8 GB Pentium 4 is the lowest speed HyperThreading processor Intel produces, and I would recommend it in order to maximize the benefit of the double data rate, dual channel RAM. If the computer is to be used for gaming, graphic, or video intensive applications, then I would recommend you increase the RAM to at least 1 GB. Also, try a search for video card performance statistics. Generally, the more memory a card has, the better it performs, however; that is not the only factor. For one, RAMDAC speed is also important. ATI and NVIDIA are the major 'players' (processor manufacturers) in this area, and a number of companies build video adapters using their chips (your configuration indicated a Gigabyte ATI card, and there are several other 'brands', as there are for adapters using NVIDIA processors).

I hope this has been of some help.
