I have a recipe that call for sweet dairy whey. I have also found that it
improves some other recipes that I like to use. I have been using Bob's Red
Mill Sweet Dairy Whey. I recently noticed that they do not have the Gf
seal on this product ( or the buttermilk powder I sometimes use). I have
called the company and they said that there is a possibility of cross
contamination because these products are not produced in their GF facility.
They do not recommend that celiacs use these items.

I have contacted a company BulkFoods.com about their whey. This is the
response I received:

Hello:
Although there may not be gluten in the product itself, the products are
broken down in the same room with other products which contain gluten.
There may be air born particles that could get into the other products.
Thank you,
Kim

On a different list I read that another brand sold in my area - NOW - gives
the same response.

Does anyone out there know of a brand of sweet dairy whey that really is gf?

Or, do any of you that are very sensitive to contamination feel safe with
any of these brands I have found? I have not observed any problems after
using the Bob's whey, but I am not one who has swift and sure reactions. I
can't trust my reactions as a gauge of trouble.

Thanks for your help on this!

Becky
