Hi everyone I need some help. This past Tuesday we had a 504 meeting at my
daughter's school. The principal and school psychologist were not present.
Early in the meeting it became apparent that the assistant principal
chairing the meeting was clueless to the unique problems associated with
dealing with a young celiac child and was not interested in what Mom had to
say. Needless to say I have requested a second hearing at which the
principal and school psychologist will be present. I have searched a number
of celiac websites and Danna Korn's books but have been unable to find
anything that deals in depth with the grief our children sometimes deal with
concerning their diet. Does anyone know of or have anything that discusses
this in terms that someone totally unaware of celiac disease can understand?
I have been told this asssitant principal has no children so their
understanding of children is strictly from an academic view point. Thank
you for your help.
