Unless I'm downloading, I always shut my PC down at night.  But I leave the monitor on.

As far as pro's and con's go, I reckon they're about even.

  There are pro-con issues around tube-saving, drive-saving, power-saving, file temp file cleanout, interfering-clutter and operations-that-happened-and-need-cleaning-out, startup power surges, startup time-wasting, etc.
