Meir, It may be the compatibility of your ISP.  How are you usually  sending
the links?  It may be your ISP is translating them as  attachments.  I was
upset because someone sent a small attachment file and  caused serious damage to
several computers a year ago.  The person didn't  realize she was doing it.
It was a .gif file off of an infected  website.
