Is there a way to disable or re-assign keyboard keys?

My CapsLock drives me spare - I'm forever bashing it when I don't mean to.
And I'm constantly hitting the period key instead of the comma and vice
versa.

I only want to fiddle with these couple of keys - I don't want to get into
the intricacies of Dvorak-type stuff and end up with a totally different
keyboard.

Ideas would be appreciated.
