I got a lot of responses on Ryan's, some negative, but for the most part, alot of positive also. Here are just a few.......

I actually contacted Ryan's about their foods. Here are the responses I got. (there are 2) I must admit that I didn't totally trust the list simply because she did the research for me and made me feel that she had never looked into it before, but this list might at least help you. : ) I usually stick to the fresh salad, fresh fruit, baked potatoes, steak, corn on the cob and sweet potatoes. I also stick to the cubed cheese and use the bottled Kraft dressings that don't list gluten as an ingredient. With these items, I've never had a reaction. (My little girls have also had the potato salad and soft serve ice cream with no trouble.)

This is the response from a Mktg. Asst. at Ryan's Steakhouse......

"I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond to you. At the time of your
request, we had not explored which of our offerings were Gluten Free. I am
still in the process of determining that to it's fullest. The following is
a list that I have so far. I know this is a partial list but I hope this
helps in determining which of our items you can enjoy. If there are specific
items that you are interested in I would be glad to look them up for you
while I'm in the process of determining our other items.

Sincerely,

Shareen Patterson

1. One said they had gotten glutenized every time they ate out, but maybe there were just many other sensitivities going on in their body right now.

2. What I do is order a steak and
baked potato. I do their salad bar, but I bring my own dressing ( I
only use lettuce, and fresh vege/fruits) . I'm not fond of their food,
but I'm sure I've not had a gluten-type experience. Oh, and I don't use
their butter on my potato - I bring my own.

3. I eat there on a regular basis in Charleston, SC. I have T-1 diabetes, DH,
CD and psoriasis and eating there hasn't caused any problems yet.

Thanks to everyone for positive support!! I think we all just have to make our own decisions about what we eat and where we eat, and sometimes, it might be risky, but we all have to have fun once in a while, with family and friends. I am going to make that call to Ryan's right now. : - )
