Hi All,

Well, the IC-746 is sold and I am now in the waiting period for monies to
come in so I can go grab the TS-2000 in the near future. I have gotten some
conflicting information I would like to get cleared up and I have a favor to
ask.

Kenwood told me the VS3 reads the menu number, what the menu is for and the
current setting. However, in speaking with a local blind ham who has one,
his 2000 only read out the menu number and the setting. Kenwood also said
the VS3 should read S meter and frequency but his only read out the
frequency. Are there settings that need to be changed to get all of these
things to read or is Kenwood all wet? Kenwood also said the synth should
read dx spots that come in when you are using the internal TNC on packet
cluster mode. Is this right?

Also, if menus don't read, has anyone made up a list of the menus and what
they control as a cheat sheet? Is this in a form from which I could make a
Braille copy? And finally, is there someone on here who is a 2000 user who
would be willing to coach me in getting the most out of my radio?

I would appreciate any information you can give me on this and I ask that if
you write privately, please send at least cc to my home address of

Thanks much and 73.
