Hello. I had an inquiry from a student today regarding an inexpensive
text-to-speech option for AOL Instant Messenger. He is able to read the
screen and use a mouse, I think. But he also needs the auditory input. He
mainly wants to hear the text that he types spoken back to him, as well as
hearing the responses from others.
I found a program that is supposed to do this for MSN Messenger, but not
for AOL Instant Messenger. I don't know if Narrator or perhaps a bit more
sophisticated text-to-speech program would do this. I use JAWS and am aware
of other full-fledged screen readers, but I don't think he needs anything
that complex.
Thanks for any help you can give.
