Thanks all for the quick replies! I got about 15-20 replies in just a
few short hours. All of the basically said:
It is a wonderful Middle Eastern food which is mainly chick peas, olive
oil and seasonings. Most are gluten free unless they have added a
forbidden ingredient. They are wonderful as a dip or on rice crackers
and are a healthy alternative to cheese and other fattening hors de
oeuvres.
