Hi, All!

Here is my recipe for the SCDiet lactose-free yogurt
smoothies that some of you have asked for:

1 cup of 24hr. lactose-free yogurt
1 banana
1/2 - 1 cup of frozen or fresh fruit of choice
Honey to suit your taste
Dash of salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract

(If one has to watch their sugar intake, of course this would
need to be modified.)

I have one of those stick mixer/chopper things by
Braun that takes just 3-4 seconds to mix right in
the glass your going to drink from . . soooo easy!

Tips: Pouring the liquid off the yogurt each time you open the
container will take out some of the bitter taste if you like a
less tart taste. I use whole milk to make the yogurt which
makes a less tart yogurt; but you can use whole milk or half
& half, or a mix of the two for an even less bitter taste. Also,
I've heard that the Yogourmet starter makes a better tasting
yogurt than others. I started out using 2 tablespoons honey
but after I cultivated my taste for yogurt, decreased the honey
to 1 tablespoon or less depending on which fruit I use.

I got the instructions for making the lactose-free yogurt from
the book, BREAKING THE VICIOUS CYCLE. You can order
BTVC, Lucy's Cookbook, the Yogourmet yogurt machine,
and Yogourmet starter from Lucy's Kitchen at 1-888-484-2126.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Eat healthy,
Kay in Austin
