The problem is that this is a famous person giving incorrect information
on public radio. People who have cochlear implants have been trying for
years to correct the "brain surgery" misstatement that has been circulating
for some years and scares off people who might otherwise be C I candidates.
Most of us that hearing loss did happen to at least talked to people who
knew the correct state of the art before sproting off in public.
Misinformation needs to be corrected not only for hearing loss but for us
blind and deaf blind who are waiting to see how eye implants and eye cell
regeneration techniques go.
