I know there have been some issues with soundblaster cards and the VIA
chipset.
If you will type "soundblaster popping" into a search engine,
you will find many others with the same problem.
You may find a solution from the search engine hits, or you might try
www.soundblaster.com to see if newer drivers or a patch are available.
