A bad SIMM is a good bet. EDO is installed in pairs so one of them may be
good. Can you swap out the SIMMS one at a time? This is the only way you
will be sure.

Where did you get these. If you got them from Ebay then make sure you
bought EDO = Extended Data Output and not FPM = Fast Page Mode. On one
occasion I purchased 4 16 meg EDO SIMMS. I was sent two EDO and two
FPM.  On another occasion I purchased 32 megs of FPM and received two 16
meg EDO.
The easy way to tell is that the SIMMS are often identified at post.
Although if that is the only RAM you have in there it wouldn't make any
difference unless you had one of each.
