My computer boots and runs fine until I leave it alone for
a minute or two. Then it hangs up and requires a re-boot.
This happens independent of the program I am running -
even when not running anything. It can happen at any
time. The key is that I do not touch it for a short
while.

If I do a power-on (soft) reboot, the bios may not find
the boot drive. If I power off and then power on, then
everything works fine. It is as if the hard drive parks
when not used and then sticks in parked position until
a hard boot.

Is this a known problem? Virus? etc?

System is WD 30 gig drive in ASUS A7V133 mb
with AMD 1200Mhz cpu and running Windows ME.
