While I have no experience with the HP 1200, I have had its predecessor, the
HP 6L, for nearly 4 years. These models come with HP's overnight exchange
warranty which I used twice. I considered buying the 1100, which was the
model before the 1200, and the one immediately after the 6L. However, this
little printer has been my default printer since I got it, and has never had
a paper jam. I used Belkin's F5U002 to convert it to a USB printer, and
will keep it until it dies. HP has an extension warranty with overnight
exchange privileges that I have purchased for the last 3 years (1 year at a
time) at $45/yr just in case. If you want current info on the 1200 go to
www.hp.com and navigate to the user forums. Users post questions about
problems with specific HP printers which are answered by other users or the
moderators. The duty cycle of the 6L is about the same as the 1200, but to
get up to date no holds barred user opinions you should definitely check the
HP forum on the 1200.

Subject: [PCBUILD] HP 1200

One of my customers is thinking about replacing their old HP laser with a
new HP 1200. The old one needs work and the new one can be bought for $400
US.
This is a light duty office 1000 to 1500 pages per month. Does anybody have
experience with the 1200. What kind of duty cycle and how well has it
worked out ?

thanks

Rode
